The American University in Cairo (AUC) is the region’s premier English-language university, an independent and nonprofit institution with nearly 5,000 undergraduates, and 30,000 alumni. OpenCraft, in partnership with Google, worked on enhancing the email services provided by AUC to their students, faculty, staff, and alumni by migrating to Google's email platform.

OpenCraft created a self-service wizard-style Web application to facilitate migration of various services such as email and contacts to the Google Apps platform. The application enables users to follow the progress of the migration and allows logging out while migration is in progress. Moreover, it offers to send SMS notifications when the process is completed. After this simple upgrade process, users are redirected to the new AUC email experience.
